M T Seminary – 1976 Class X-A

Jiji Jagan

Jagan – where his classmates felt like family from day one Bonds he shared with his batchmates Jagan always cherished his days at M.T. Seminary School, Kottayam, where his classmates felt like family from day one. At 15, he dreamed of becoming a successful businessman. Though life had its own path and his journey was cut short at 55, he always worked hard, chased his goals, and stayed true to that dream. Even though he often carried a stern, serious look on the outside, anyone who knew him well knew it was all a front—underneath, he was a deeply jovial, warm, and hilarious person. He was always a pillar of support, never hesitating to lend a helping hand to family and friends whenever they needed him. The close bonds he shared with his batchmates remained a constant source of joy throughout his life, bringing back sweet memories of those carefree school days. If Jagan were walking into the room today, he would definitely flash that famous smile of his and say, “Come on guys, let’s all get together and say cheers with a drink!” He always reminded us to dream big, work hard, and cherish the people walking beside us. I know he would have looked around this room today with immense love and pride, happy to be part of such an amazing and enduring batch. Best wishes for the grand function on October 9th. I am sure Jagan is right there with you all in spirit, raising a glass and celebrating the bond you all share. Regards,Jiji Jagan M.T. Seminary School, Kottayam

A Turf Built in Memory of Friends: Class of 1976 Gives Back to M.T. Seminary School

A Turf Built in Memory of Friends: Class of 1976 Gives Back to M.T. Seminary School A tribute to departed classmates and a gift for future generations The members of Class X-A, 1976, M.T. Seminary School, Kottayam, have transformed the memory of their departed classmates into a lasting contribution to the school where their journey began. As part of their Golden Jubilee initiatives, the batch gifted the school a modern cricket practice turf, dedicated to the memory of friends who are no longer with them. The facility was inaugurated by Kerala’s Public Education Minister, N. Shamsudheen, marking a meaningful occasion for the school, its students and the alumni who came together to make the initiative possible. For the members of the 1976 batch, this project carries a significance beyond sport. It reflects a bond formed in their schooldays—a bond that has endured through the passing decades, changing lives and the loss of dear friends. The new cricket turf will provide aspiring young cricketers with an improved space to practise, develop their skills and pursue their sporting ambitions. In this way, the memories of the past become an investment in the dreams of the next generation. The initiative also represents the spirit of the batch’s Golden Jubilee: returning to their alma mater not merely to celebrate their own journey, but to give something meaningful back to the institution that helped shape it. As today’s students step onto the turf, they will have an opportunity to create their own friendships, memories and stories. And for the Class of 1976, every new achievement on that ground can serve as a quiet reminder of the friends whose memories inspired its creation. Some friends may no longer stand beside us, but their place in our lives remains. Through this cricket turf, their memory will continue to be part of the school, its students and the generations yet to come. Class X-A · 1976M.T. Seminary School, KottayamIn memory of our friends. For the dreams of tomorrow.

A Staycation at Misty Mountains

A Staycation at Misty Mountains Old Friends, New Memories Some friendships don’t need a classroom to keep them alive. As part of their journey together, the members of Class X-A, 1976, M.T. Seminary School, Kottayam, came together for a staycation at Misty Mountains Resort, Kuttikkanam.Surrounded by the hills, mist and quiet beauty of Kuttikkanam, the classmates took a break from their everyday lives and simply enjoyed being together. The days were filled with conversations, laughter, shared meals, photographs and the easy companionship that comes from knowing one another for decades. There were no school bells, no uniforms and no examinations this time—just a group of old friends enjoying each other’s company and creating new memories together. The photographs from the stay capture more than a trip. They capture the friendship that has continued long after the Class of 1976 left their school corridors. Decades have passed. The friendships have grown older. But the laughter remains the same. M.T. A Visit to Our Teachers

A Visit to Our Teachers Returning to the People Who Taught Us Last year, the members of Class X-A, 1976, M.T. Seminary School, Kottayam, had the privilege of revisiting and meeting some of the teachers who shaped our school years.Decades may have passed since we sat in their classrooms, listened to their lessons, received their encouragement—and, at times, their corrections—but the respect and affection we carry for our teachers have remained unchanged. Meeting them again brought back memories of our school days and reminded us of the people who played an important role in shaping the young students we once were. For us, this was more than a visit. It was an opportunity to say thank you—for the lessons taught, the values instilled, the discipline expected, the encouragement given, and the countless moments that became part of our lives. Some lessons from school were written on blackboards and in notebooks. Others stayed with us long after we left the classroom. Those are the lessons we remember most. With gratitude to our teachers Class X-A · 1976M.T. Seminary School, Kottayam

Binny Jacob Thomas

Binny Jacob Thomas Binny Jacob Thomas always spoke of his days at M.T. Seminary, Kottayam, with great warmth. His classmates were much more than school friends—they remained a close and cherished part of his life for decades. He loved their reunions and was so proud of these friendships that he made sure his family knew and met his friends. These friends stood by him till the very end—visiting him in hospital during his last days and being there for his family at his funeral. That is the true meaning of friendship. And I know Binny treasured it deeply. Hearty congratulations & best wishes for the function that is scheduled for 9th October. Regards Kalpana Jacob ( w/o Binny Jacob Thomas)
